Cobra Coaching
Citation from nomination for Hampshire RFU Coach Of The Year.
Andy is a brilliant coach who drives to get the best out of every player and coach he's around; watching the way he delivers sessions and helps players grow and improve whilst keeping the sessions active is something massive for others to learn off
The way he presents himself and his coaching philosophy is truly amazing. It's a great privilege to work alongsode someone like Andy.
Message received from an U18 College Player.
Just wanted to say thank you for the coaching over the last couple of years. It's been a pleasure listening to you and playing for you and I feel I have improved massively since the start of the first year.

I didn't get a chance to say thank you properly at the end of our session yesterday, but I really appreciate the effort you put in for us.
Not just that session, but for this season as a whole; all the effort you have put into the team has really helped me not just improve as a team player, but as an individual player as well.
I have a real desire to reach the top of my game, and I think your support through each session is going to help that. I'm planning on having a really good summer where I touch up on a few things and improve my overall game. My weight is a big thing, but I'm hoping to not only be a lighter ball carrier, but a more effective one come September.
Once again, thank you for all your help and I'm buzzing to be a part of the team again next year.
Teacher in charge of rugby, The Burgate School and Sixth Form.
I am delighted to give a reference for Andy Stevens who has worked with The Burgate School and Sixth Form in launching and aiding the implementation of the RFU and CBRE's All Schools Programme.
Following the school signing up to the All Schools Programme during Summer 2018, Andy was brought in to help launch and support the implementation of the programme through coaching of extra-curricular Girls Rugby, which lead into more coaching within the curriculum of both Year 7 and 8 Boys and Girls, and then further curriculum coaching of Year 9 Girls.
Andy is an excellent coach with outstanding knowledge and a variety of drills, practices and games that grasps players, of all abilities, attention and keeps it for the duration of the session. Andy is able to tailor drills and practices to all abilities and can differentiate sessions to challenge and develop all skill levels.
Andy is a highly motivated and enthusiastic coach who communicates his ideas and knowledge clearly and effectively. He has high standards which he upholds throughout sessions, and is able to get players to buy into, without needing to raise his voice or overly use a whistle. He is consistent at alll times and players know exactly where they stand.
It is testament to Andy that he has proven so popular with our students that we are continuing Summer Touch Rugby sessions into the summer term and their request. There is no better acknowledgement of Andy's skills as a coach and leader than the fact that his sessions are the ones that are regularly most well attended and that all involved can't wait for the next one.
In conclusion Andy is and will be an asset to any coaching team and I cannot recommend him highly enough. At The Burgate School we will continue to work with him, provided his time is available and look forward to developing Rugby and other sports further with him
Director of Rugby, Ellingham & Ringwood RFC.
I've known Andy for the last five years, initially as a coach of one of our Mini rugby sides, then as Chair of our Mini and Junior Academy, and more recently in our local schools for the Rugby Football Union. He is also our Club Coaching Coordinator.
In all my dealings with Andy I've found him to be professional, organised and charismatic. He has a great coaching style that gets the best out of players, whatever their ability and he's a been a real champion of important issues such as 'Kids First' and developing Girls' rugby.
I'd have no hesitation in recommending Andy to you and your organisation.
